Spanish Computer Symbols - ¡ and ¿
There are several characters and symbols that are unique to Spanish
and they can be quite difficult to locate on a standard non Spanish
keyboard.
The upside down or inverted question mark and exclamation
marks are both used in Spanish sentences but do not appear anywhere on a
standard US or UK keyboard. The Alt key for these characters are 0191
(¿) and 0161 (¡). It is extremely easy to add these characters and
others to your documents without changing any settings on your computer!
You just need to know how to add alt codes to your document and the most
important Spanish ones are listed in the table below. For detailed instructions on
adding alt codes to your document, read our page on
Windows Alt Codes. See the table
below for a list of the most popular Spanish characters and accent marks
and their respective alt codes.
