Palm Tree |
This is a symbol
of honour, fame, and victory; increase of wealth, love, and
marriage |
Pampas Grass |
This is a sign
that you will make a pathetic endeavour to find happiness in
a life which is cast in a somewhat dreary lot |
Pansy |
This flower is a
symbol of understanding, modesty, and contentment; it is
also a pleasant indication of faithful friends and happy
days |
Peacock |
A sign of the
acquisition of property; a prosperous and happy marriage;
with other signs, an unfortunate friendship |
Pearl |
The pearl is a
symbol of perfection and beauty and often used as a symbol
of femininity. In mythology, pearls were said to be the
tears of the gods |
Pelican |
This bird is a
symbol of loneliness, separation, and yearning for the
unattainable; if it is flying you will receive news from
those who are far away in isolated parts of the world |
Penguin |
This strange
bird indicates interesting news of expeditions and
discoveries in the northern regions |
Peonies |
You will
probably be called upon to make a decision of much
importance before another summer is past; broken peonies
predict that you may possibly throw away your chance of
happiness by coming to a wrong conclusion |
Pheasant |
Good fortune;
new friends; if flying, speedy and propitious news |
Pig |
The pig is
symbolic of courage. In some cultures however including
Islam and Judaism, the pig is the most unclean of all the
animals. Followers of the muslim faith are forbidden to eat
pork or any products made from the pig. |
Pigeons |
These show
reconciliation with someone dear to you from whom you have
been estranged; if flying, important and pleasant news is on
its way; if stationary, delay in the arrival of important
news |
Pine Trees

The Pine Tree is
symbolic of happiness
followed by an aftermath of regret |
Pluto |
The planet Pluto
rules the zodiac sign of Scorpio and symbolic of powerful
forces. Pluto was named after the Roman god of the
underworld |
Poppy
|
This flower is
significant of a pleasant occurrence in the early summer.
The Poppy is symbolic of the sleep of death and this is used
all over the world as a tribute to those killed in wars.
Remembrance day poppies and wreaths made from poppies are
laid at memorials to the war dead all over the world on
remembrance day, 11th November |
Puffin |
This bird
denotes timidity and a desire for solitude; if flying, news
from abroad |
Purple |
The color Purple
is a regal color and is symbolic of wealth |

flew over the Israelites. The traditional meal is called
'Seder' and each of the foods eaten is hugely symbolic.
Salt Water symbolises the tears that the Jews shed when
they spend long years as captives. Lamb symbolises the
lams that were killed in the first Passover. Matzah is a
flat bread and symbolises the speed at which the
Israelites had to leave Egypt. The symbols 'Pesach' are
displayed in the centre of the plate, 'Pesach' is Hebrew
for Passover |
